Isabela Island, Galapagos Islands is Ecuagringo’s New Grander Marlin Destination!
Isabela Island is the largest in the archipelago found 90 miles west of our main base of operation San Cristobal Island. Ecuagringo organizes family excursions to visit the Sierra Negra Volcano, snorkel, dive, and tour on Isabela Island and its waters. We work with the best local guides, hosts and lodging services. However, as a new limited addition for 2019 we have the only captain, boat and crew that will be offering shots at large and grander black and blue marlin. The 6000 foot drop just 6 to 8 miles from the Southeastern shores of Isabela attracts the largest billfish and tuna found in the Galapagos.
With local artisanal fishermen catching several marlin over the 1000 lb mark each year we know big fish swim here. Add the FAD buoy 14 miles from port and you have some of the most incredible waters anywhere to fish for giant marlin. If you are a serious big gamefish chaser then this is the place for you. Why Fish Ecuador?
The coast of Ecuador has been nicknamed “Marlin Boulevard” and has been for decades one of the most productive areas to fish for striped, blue and black marlin. The port town of Manta is a relatively easy destination to get to. It offers some very good places to enjoy seafood, nightlife and beaches.
Captain Andres Calero runs the Miura 36ft Luhrs and is raising the bar on finding fish. He recently won the latest Manta billfish local tournament and has incredible fish raising stats.
