Manta, Ecuador November 3, 2018
Ecuagringo’s Captain Andres Calero onboard Miura has won first place in this year’s edition of local Copa Neru Sierra Billfish Tournament. This is a one day tournament and the winner takes all with the largest billfish landed. 12 boats participated with a total of 10 blue marlin and 8 striped marlin raised.
The tournament comes a few days late after a solid 2 weeks of incredible marlin action in Manta. This is a tournament geared to introduce many new anglers to billftshing.
Captain Calero’s winning fish weighed in at 322 lb. The winning angler was Felipe Gonzalez. The tournament was held at the Manta Yacht Club in honor of late member and angling friend Neru Sierra.
