Marlin, Tuna & Swordfish Report for Ecuador & The Galapagos Islands

Fellow Anglers,

Ecuador in general has been pretty active with all destinations reporting good fishing the last week. Galapagos has been on fire with tuna, Salinas has seen marlin action and Manta as well.

Galapagos Islands

San Cristobal Island

The tuna fishing continues to be second to none. If you want to experience plenty of rod bending action Galapagos offers more than marlin, wahoo and grouper. Hot tuna surface bites are possible on poppers and best fishing usually runs November to May each year.

Nov 10, 2017– Mate Humberto fishing on a skiff with poppers near Punta Pitt caught 22 big eye tuna from 30 to 80# for plenty of rod bending action.

Nov 11, 2017– Humberto once again fished out of Punta Pitt on a skiff with poppers and caught 30 big eye tunas al ranging from 30 to 80#.

Nov 12, 2017– Humberto on his final day fishing out of the same skiff caught 25 big eye tunas all 20 to 70# and boated a nice big eye that weighed out at 105#.
