Fly Fishing the Galapagos Islands

Our reels are all Mako and rods are Temple Fork Outfitters. Since 2003 when we started fly fishing for striped marlin we have helped hundreds of anglers catch striped and blue marlin on fly. As the only outfitter to have the boats, crews and the tackle experienced enough to make your trip worth while you should let us help you plan a trip that is right just for you.

Captain Gutierrez from Santa Cruz Island has come into the scene more recently fishing with company founder Braden Escobar. Gutierrez is son of another Captain Gutierrez who fished with Escobar and Ecuagringo groups on legendary boat the Striper. He was the first captain to fly fish the Galapagos.
Out San Cristobal we find Captain Julio Rodriguez. Rodriguez was a staple mate on Ecuagringo boats Blue and Big Fish until he ascended to captain in 2009. Captain Rodriguez has logged more hours on the water fly fishing than any other human in the Galapagos. Julio was a mate for years during the Jake Jordan fly fishing schools hosted out of San Cristobal Island.

Why Fly Fish With Ecuagringo:
Our company has over 20 years experience as the only and leading outfitter to fly fish the Galapagos Islands for striped marlin. Unlike some fly by night people who host a few weeks a year of fly fishing, we have boats, crews and tackle we take advantage of the bite 365 days a year. You can book a trip with confidence year round. Our fishery has been documented in many major publications and we even did a fly fishing show with the late legend Jose Wejeve on Spanish Fly.
Perhaps the best reason to fly fish with Ecuagringo is not only the best boats, tackle and crews but the fact that we take fly fishing seriously. Teasing a fish and getting it hot enough to bite is teamwork that we understand. yes there usually are plenty of striped marlin in the Galapagos to make several to dozens of shots per day possible. However, sometimes it may come down to the wire and you want a crew that will make those shots count!
