The Galapagos Islands have been producing an amazing marlin bite all year round. The banks around San Cristobal Island have been loaded with marlin and 0-30 Bank between San Cristobal and Santa Cruz islands has seen a terrific year. San Cristobal is the more dynamic island with many more places to fish.
However, some guest wanting to tour Santa Cruz have the option to fish 0-30 Bank. This past week the bite has not slowed and as we open up soon the 2020 prime season we are sure to see very good fishing. San Cristobal Island
December 10, 2019– On The Hook captained by Gus Hernandez headed to train mates and see what was on Española Bank after getting reports of local fishermen about lots of tuna and striped marlin on the bank.
They fished from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm and raised 17 striped marlin had 10 bites on the circle hooks/ballyhoo and released 5 fish. The crew headed in early to reach a beach and type to do some maintenance on the lower units. It was an incredible 4.5 hours of fishing.
Santa Cruz Island
December 11, 2019– Patricia captained by Yuri Gutierrez took Rasmus Hoejfeldt and his guest to fish 0-30 Bank. They raised 12 striped marlin had 8 bites lost 3 fish near the boat and released two beautiful striped marlin. One fish went over an hour on 50# standup and was estimated over 200 pounds.
