Fellow Anglers,

We finally had our international anglers fish for a week out of San Cristobal Island. After so many setbacks and postponements because of Covid anglers are coming back to the Galapagos Islands. The Galapagos have been open since July 1 following strict health protocols.

However, flights have been a problem until now in December that they have normalized. If you are looking for a safe, open and incredible fishing destination to satisfy your fishing cravings then look no further than the Galapagos Islands.

4 Anglers Catch Their First Marlins Ever!

Anglers Elton Fletcher, Gary Velie, James Jones from Georgia in the first group and Rickey Smith from Texas in the second group all had multiple shots at marlin. The first group fished one day for marlin and spent two days tuna and bottom fishing. The second group was Rickey Smith and his wife Jerri.

All anglers caught their first marlin ever and released them safely. Rickey Smith fished 2 days for marlin and one day inshore. Therefore in total of 3 days marlin fishing the crew of the Patricia raised 39 striped marlin into the spread. Fish were finicky and they only managed a total of 24 bites in 3 days and released 5 very nice striped marlin.

There were plenty of fish seen on the surface slashing and feeding on sardines. Many fish spit the hook next to the boat and the crew spent time trying to teach anglers how to set the hook on trolled lures. Captain Yuri Gutierrez and first mate Jairon Gutierrez lead the team onboard the Patricia.

While the fishing was quite challenging at times there are plenty of big striped marlin in the Galapagos waiting for you.
