Hot action with double digit marlin raises continues out of the Galapagos Islands. Manta, Ecuador has terrific conditions leading to a very good blue marlin bite. If you want a country that has the best marlin bite happening now then Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands are the place to go. Galapagos is offering plenty of shots at striped marlin with a decent blue marlin bite mixed in.

San Cristobal Island:
May 22, 2018- On The Hook captained by Gus Hernandez headed to 0-30 Bank to fish his crew for a fishing report. They arrived to a bank full of life with dolphins and lots of sardines, sharks and sea lions feeding on the surface. Just as they arrived they were greeted by striped marlin balling bait on the surface and watching them slashing sardines. The team raised 28 striped marlin and 2 blue marlin and 1 black marlin. They went 9/18 on striped marlin bites, 1/2 on blue marlin and lost a black marlin estimated around 650# that broke the leader on a pitched bait from 30# standup intended for striped marlin.
Santa Cruz Island:
May 24, 2018– Tesoro Galapagos captained by Nicolas Schiess posted that they had plenty of action on 0-30 Bank and went 3/25 on striped marlin.
Mainland Ecuador
Manta:
May 23, 2018– Panga Don Teofilo reported going 5/9 on blue marlin and 1/1 on black marlin. Panga Explorer went 3/6 on blue marlin. Fishing was 17 to 35 miles out with excellent water conditions and lots of flying fish reported.
