South America Marlin, Tuna & Swordfish Report

The fishing continues to be strong off the coast of Ecuador for marlin. Galapagos continues to see an awesome tuna and wahoo bite!

Ecuador

Salinas

Nov 22, 2017– Don Chuma fishing with Argentine guest went 0/5 on blue marlin. Moni went 0/2 on blue marlin. No one seemed to be able to hang on to the fish today.

Nov 23, 2017– Don Chuma caught 20 mahi-mahi over a dead sea lion. Moni went 0/2 on blue marlin and 0/1 on striped marlin.

Nov 25, 2017– Mary Lou fishing with guest Joe Folds and family had an action packed day with wahoo, mahi-mahi and skipjacks. They had a blue marlin about 500# come into the spread but did not get hooked.

Nov 26, 2017– Do Chuma went 0-2 on black marlin and 0-1 on striped marlin.

Manta

Nov 23, 2017– Panga Mazinger reported 1/1 on black marlin and 1/2 on striped marlin. Panga Henry went 2/4 ob blue marlin and 1/2 on striped marlin and several large mahi-mahi.

Nov 24, 2017– Panga Mazinger went 1/3 on blue marlin and 0/1 on striped marlin. Panga Explorer went 0/2 on blue marlin and 1/1 on striped marlin. A local boat from the Manta Yacht Club did not wish to have their name published went 0/3 on blue marlin and 1/2 on striped marlin.

Nov 23, 2017– Jhonamar 2 doing an engine test run near Punta Pitt reported catching 5 big eye tunas in two hours while trolling near la Barcasa. The fish averaged 35 to 55#

Nov 24, 2017– On the Hook did a single day charter and fished McGowen Reef. Casting poppers they managed to land 12 big eye tunas 25 to 45# and a very nice 40# cubera snapper.
