Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo and Swordfish Fishing Reports!
December 22-23, 2017
Fellow Anglers,
Hard to believe Christmas is finally here and with it almost another year of incredible fishing action for South America has flown by.
Ecuador:
Manta
December 22, 2017– The currents changed back to pushing South and sea conditions were actually quite nice for fishing. Panga Mazinger went 2/3 on blue marlin including a nice fish over 500#. Panga Don Teofilo went 1/2 on blue marlin, 1/1 on a black marlin and 0/1 on striped marlin.
Galapagos Islands:
San Cristobal Island
December 22, 2017– Jhonamar 2 had a terrific big eye tuna bite fishing the Barcasa on the North part of San Cristobal. They caught 13 big eye tunas while trolling light tackle and 2 wahoo.
December 23, 2017– Jhonamar 2 fished out of Punta Pitt near one of the FAD buoys searching for marlin. Water was still a bit too cold for blue and black marlin with the unusually cold water for this time of the year. They still managed to release a nice striped marlin in about 2 hours of fishing before fishing for mahi-mahi on the FADs and catching about a dozen that would make for a great dinner.
Folks we hope you have a wonderful Christmas. Please think of us to customize your next adventure to South America.
