Galapagos Islands Marlin & Tuna Fishing Report

The striped marlin bite has been the most consistent year round 3 years running now. The wahoo and tuna fishing is second to none and the bottom fishing is endless.

San Cristobal Island:

December 17, 2019– Mantaraya was captain by Jonathan Valiente and headed out with Robert Spackey and his group to catch striped marlin. The action had slowed down a bit from the previous day that they raised 28 fish on Española Bank.

Today they raised 8 striped marlin had 5 bites and released 3. Seas were a bit choppy and although Valiente mentioned several marlin tailing they weren’t as active as the previous day.

December 18, 2019– Mantaraya head for some small game fish to McGowen Reef. They caught two very nice wahoo with Spackey group. Several yellowfin tuna and large bonitos and then tried their hand catching bottom fish. It was a fun day catching dinner fish.
