Follow our action weekly as we provide you the latest from our destinations in Ecuador, Galapagos Islands and Peru. The fishing continues to be world class for blue marlin out of Manta/Ecuador. The tuna fishing in Galapagos is second to none. Manta and Galapagos have very good wahoo fishing as well and the striped marlin bite out of Galapagos is turning on as the water cools down in the summer. Manta

May 10, 2017– Fishing was good for most as the marlin bite continued up 25 miles West of Manta. Atomic went 1/3 on blue marlin. Miura went 1/2 on blue marlin. Panga Teofilo went 2/3 on blue marlin. Panga Mi Pana had 4/4 on blue marlin. Panga Juvenil 2/5 on blue marlin. Panga Explorer 0/1 on blue marlin. Panga Maribel 0/0. Panga Tito 1/1 on blue marlin and 1/2 on striped marlin.

May 11, 2017– Miura had a nice day of action going 0/5 on blue marlin (just could not hold on). Panga Explorer 3/6 on blue marlin and 1/2 on striped marlin. Panga Teofilo went 0/0. Panga Eduardo 2 went 1/2 on blue marlin. Panga Maribel went 2/5 on blue marlin. Panga Noel went 1/3 on blue marlin. Panga Panita went 0/3 on blue marlin and 1/1 on black marlin.

May 12, 2017– The action was off the charts 25 miles out for blue marlin. Miura went after wahoo catching 7 out of 10 bites and late in the day went offshore and went 0/1 on blue marlin. Panga Explorer raised 9 blue marlin and caught 4. Panga Panita went 3/8 on blue marlin. Panga Maribel went 5/7 on blue marlin. Panga Teofilo went 4/7 on blue marlin. Panga Juvenil had an amazing 12 raises but caught only 3 blue marlin! Panga El Cid went 0/0. Panga Angela Maria went 0/1 on blue marlin. It seems like it was feast or famine for some boats. Panga Toribio went 0/0. Panga Tony went 2/6 on blue marlin and 1/1 on sailfish. Over 150 blue marlin were reported caught between all the pangas of San Mateo a fishing village just South of Manta.

May 13, 2017– The sea Gods would have a total reversal of the action of the last few days 25 miles West and Moxsea went 0/0 with our guest Pablo Lillo from Chile and his group. Atomic went 0/0, Sea Toy 0/1 on blue marlin. Sea conditions were reported to be the same or similar as the prior day but the fish would not bite. However the panga fleet fishing 35 to 45 miles further Northwest averaged 2 to 4 bites per panga of blue marlin. Panga Maribel was the highlight as they went 4/5 on blue marlin, 1/1 on sailfish and 1/1 on black marlin and 1/1 on striped marlin.

San Cristobal

May 9, 2017– Jhonamar fished Espanola Banks and went 2/5 on striped marlin and two nice big eye tunas about 45# would make for a good dinner. One striped marlin released was estimated around 220#.

May 10, 2017– On the Hook fishing with guest from Argentina had a wonderful day casting popper at McGowen Reef for tuna. the caught over a dozen big eye tuna 25 to 65# on light tackle and a very nice cubera snapper about 40#. They also reported seeing a small black marlin tailing that could not be enticed by poppers or bait.

May 11, 2017– On the Hook headed to Punta Pitt. The morning was slow with only a nice dorado about 30# and a few bonito caught. Around 2 pm a black marlin about 500# made for a beautiful fight and a first for guest from Argentina. They ended the day with a big eye tuna about 130#.

May 12, 2017– On the Hook fished for grouper about 25 minutes from port. Argentine guest delighted in catching several local groupers from 5 to 20# that would make for a terrific dinner. They caught a variety of reef fish and spent most of the day bending rods in 120 to 300 feet of water before ending the day to do some snookering in a secluded beach nearby with sea lions and reef fish.

May 13, 2017– Jhonamar 2 fished McGowen reef and caught 5 big eye tuna about 35 to 45# on the troll and 2 wahoo over 40#. The skipjacks were thick and they caught over a 12 averaging 5 to 12#. On The Hook fished 0-30 Bank and went 1/2 on striped marlin and a little blue about 250#.
