Mar 2, 2017Fishing Reports

Fellow Anglers,

Manta is the destination on our list that has stood out in South America as a fantastic place to have multiple shots at blue and striped marlin, easy to get there and most of all at a great price. Fishing continues to be strong and looking to be even better than 2016.

Manta – Ecuador:

Feb 21-24, 2017 The pangas from the village of San Mateo fished 30 miles West and the fishing was good. Beautiful blue water, calm seas and lost of bait. Most pangas reported raising 2 to 3 blue marlin daily. The striped marlin bite was good in some areas as well with boat reporting 4 to 12 raises of striped marlin each day. Several of the pangas had double digit raises of marlin which is not uncommon on a good day in Manta.

Folks Manta is a year round destination where you will have high probabilities of catching striped and blue marlin. The bottom fishing for grouper, jacks and snapper is excellent. Good hotels, restaurants and some nightlife make it a fun destination. There are national parks and several towns with beaches offering activities such as parasailing, hand gliding, diving, horseback riding and more.
