Marlin, Tuna & Swordfish Report for Ecuador & The Galapagos Islands

October 30 – November 1, 2017

The wahoo fishing in out of San Cristobal Island has been quite strong the last few days. While the last few guest have not been focusing on marlin and have preferred to target wahoo crews have mentioned seeing striped and blue marlin on the surface near port. Manta has been producing a good wahoo and grouper bites as well.

Ecuador:

Manta

October 30, 2017– Panga Henry went 2/5 on blue marlin fishing 30 miles West of Manta. Panga Don Teofilo went 0/0 fishing 20 miles west of Manta. Panga Mi Pana had 1/2 on blue marlin and 1/2 on striped marlin.

Nov 1, 2017– Miura hosted Ron Dittl, Mike McGee and one more gentleman to fish for wahoo, mahi-mahi and grouper. They caught several wahoo, a couple mahi-mahi mahi-mahi and a very nice broadtail grouper by combining trolling and jigging. Panga Mazinger reported 1/2 on blue marlin and 0/1 on striped marlin.

October 30, 2017– Vertigo reported a decent wahoo bite and big eye tuna bite. They also saw a large blue marlin tailing on the surface near port but they were not targeting marlin that day.

Nov 1, 2017– On The Hook went to McGowen Reef and caught several nice big eye tunas 30 to 50 lbs and a couple of wahoo 50# plus.
