Peru with cold water but good large wahoo action.
Fellow Anglers,
Except for Manta/Ecuador most of our destinations in Ecuador and Peru are in their offseason until about November when weather tends to get better and fishing picks up again for all species. We pride ourselves in providing the most accurate reports we can wether the fishing is hot or slow so that our readers have the best info possible to make their own conclusions.
With Manta/Ecuador experiencing a slower than usual summer we are now seeing some great fishing conditions and a fantastic blue and striped marlin bite. The Galapagos Islands in general have had a very strange summer with warmer water than normal and very rough seas. However, striped and blue marlin have been found to bite on some days. It has been hit or miss with some anglers doing really well this off-season and others having slower days.
As for Peru; our partner JP Testino is reporting cold water but a very productive wahoo bite out to 6 miles offshore in front of the beaches of Punta Sal just North of Cabo Blanco. Water has averaged about 68 degrees yet they have seen some tailing striped marlin while doing mainly whale tours.
It is high season for humpback whales in Ecuador and Peru. Remember that any of our packages can be customized for you to visit and tour Galapagos, Andes Mountains, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Nazca and much more. We are the outfitters for all your South American vacations.
