Fellow Anglers,
Captain Andres Calero has been at it again fishing for broadtail grouper, jacks and snapper onboard the Miura. The marlin bite has slowed down the last week a bit so Calero takes advantage of the terrific bottom fishing. Manta has become famous for its incredible blue and striped marlin bite that often will produce double digit raises during the peak months of July to January. However the grouper, jacks and snapper tend to bite all year round in 150 to 350 feet of water.

In the past we have not reported much the bottom fishery out of Manta or any of our destinations. As more and more anglers are chartering our boats and booking trips to bottom fish we figure it is time to start posting more pictures and reports.
The marlin bite has produced about 1-3 blue marlin raises a day for the past week 45 miles out.
April 23, 2017– Miura fished 9 miles from port on a reef due Southwest. They caught 8 nice almaco jacks from 12 to 35 lbs in a morning of fishing.
April 26, 2017– Miura fished afternoon only in 250 ft of water dropping live bait over a reef targeting broadtail grouper. Fishing with a guest from France the angler landed a 20#, 30# and 73# broadtail grouper. A fun filled afternoon.
