Galapagos Marlin Fishing Report

The marlin action has not slowed down in the Galapagos Islands. The El NiƱo warm water event has brought striped, blue and ven black marlin action just about every month. It has also been an excellent year with some of the best mahi mahi and tuna action ever seen in the last 25 years we have been fishing in the Galapagos. The islands are a marine reserve of protected waters that try to minimize commercial fishing. You will not find too many places on Earth where marine life is so abundant and the fishing this good. All year we have averaged double digit striped marlin fishing out of both San Cristobal and Santa Cruz.

Blue and black marlin have been in the mix all year and those who have targeted the giant blue marlin fishery out of Isabela have been handsomely rewarded. Ecuagringo has been pioneering the waters of the Galapagos Islands since we started in 1998. We are the first and longest running outfitter with the most boats, best custom tackle and the only ones prepared for fly fishing, light tackle, bait and switch, popping, deep dropping and heavy 130# tackle. Come be part of the many anglers who have joined the Ecuagringo fishing family.
