Galapagos Islands
San Cristobal
I had the pleasure of fishing with a couple of the most wonderful anglers I have ever met. Tim and Heidi McBride were a real joy to fish with. We fished 4 days on the Big Fish catching mainly tunas and raising few marlin on the first three days.
March 21, 2013– was the most impressive day fishing near Post Office, Floreana Island. Tim wanted to search for large marlin and after 3 days of unsuccessfully hooking a large marlin today would pay off. The weather had been gorgeous everyday and water averaged 76 to 80 F in the various area we fished. Seas were close to flat calm everyday.
Heide caught several tuna in the 35 to 45 lb range. On the last day Time caught a wahoo, hooked a blue estimated around 700 lbs and at the same time while waiting to retrieve the remaining lines there were 2 more dorados hooked. The female would jump and interfere with the blue marlin that was jumping and the bull dorado took over just as the female jumped off. To make a long story short Tim’s blue spit the hook but he managed to catch a 53 lb dorado.
Folks the large marlin are here. Come take a chance at catching a nice blue, black or striped marlin.
