Both EspaƱola and Rosa Blanca Banks continue to be on fire. Boats reporting 30 to 60 plus raises per day on each bank. As the season progresses more anglers from around the world are experiencing the marlin bite happening now. We also get more updated reports on the fishing as more guest fish out of Santa Cruz and San Cristobal Island.

Water has begun warming up so reports from Isabela Island on our hunts for grander blues will start. La NiƱa set us back almost 3 months with the blue marlin due to unusually cold water but they are starting to show up on the striped marlin banks.

Feb 11, 2022– Mantarraya reported over 40 striped marlin raised on EspaƱola Bank had 25 bites and released 5 striped marlin. Vertigo 2 with Peter Santini went bottom fishing for grouper and caught a few with jigs near Punta Pitt up to 30 lbs.
Feb 12, 2022– Mantarraya with Captain Jonathan Valiente fished Rosa Blanca Bank and raised 62 striped marlin raised and 45 bites with only 5 marlin released according to Valiente anglers were missing a lot of fish. Vertigo 2 reported 40 raised and 25 bites with 8 releases also on Rosa Blanca Bank.

Ecuador updated its international air entry requirements on February 9. Travelers (ages 3 and older) must now present either a COVID-19 vaccination card showing the traveler received a complete series of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to entry, or proof of a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken no more than 72 hours prior to boarding the flight to Ecuador.
