Galapagos Is Having A Very Good Offseason For Marlin!

The fishing out of Manta has picked up again the last week and the bite in Galapagos although offseason continues to impress with multiple raises in both destinations. The water is a bit cool which has triggered the striped marlin to bite both in Manta and Galapagos but slowed the blue and black marlin bites a bit.

Colder water than usual for this time of the year averaging 74 F has made the striped marlin become active but the blue marlin bite has slowed down. However the few blue that have been seen are said to be larger.
September 13, 2018– The new Miura captain by Andres Calero raised 8 striped marlin had 3 bites and released 1 stripey. Solo Mia went 1/1 on blue marlin.
September 14, 2018– Miura went 2/6 on striped marlin out of 15 raises. Captain Calero mentioned the fish were not very aggressive. Solo Mia went 1/1 on striped marlin but it unclear if they raised or had anymore action. Chasin Tail went 2/5 striped marlin.
September 16, 2018– Miura raised 11 striped marlin and 1/1 on the stripeys. Captain Calero said the fish were not aggressive and just followed teasers. Black Pearl raised 6 had 3 bites and released 1 striped marlin.
Galapagos Islands
San Cristobal Island:
September 14, 2018– On The Hook had a day of fun fishing for striped marlin on 0-30 Bank with guest Mike Richards. They raised 13 striped marlin had 7 bites and released 4. One fish was estimated at around 280 lbs. Water was reported at 72 F but seas were choppy and a bit rough.
