2017 was a great year of fishing in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands with several of our destinations reporting incredible catches of marlin, tuna, wahoo, mahi-mahi and grouper. The last few days has exploded with a very hot blue marlin bite out of Manta, Ecuador. The Galapagos Islands are closing the year with fantastic tuna, wahoo and jack fishing.

December 29, 2017– On the Hook hosted Harish Virhia and wife from UK. They fished for tuna and caught several big eyes on poppers as well as a few amaro jacks. Good times bending rods and eating fresh tuna ceviche. The topwater tuna bite with poppers and plugs continues to be excellent. Captain Gus mentioned seeing a large striped marlin tailing on the surface but had no interest.
December 30, 2017– On the Hook headed for Espanola in hopes of finding tuna and marlin but the bite was slow. They were able to catch some jacks On McGowen Reef. Sea conditions continue to be unusually cold for the time of year.
