Galapagos Marlin Fishing Report
Looking for your next incredible fishing destination of a lifetime or want something last minute? Need to share a boat with other anglers? Ecuagringo offers you the most complete offshore fishing operation in the Galapagos Islands since 1998. We have more boats, high quality Italian reels, experienced crew and are the only outfitter to operate from three islands in the Galapagos.
If you are ready to pitch baits to double digit striped marlin numbers or want to challenge huge blue marlin on ultimate 130 pound tackle then it is time to book a trip to the Galapagos Islands. Striped marlin fishing is year round and the blue marlin usually bite more in the warm season. However, 2023 being an El Niño year and water staying warm all year we have striped, blue and black marlin bitting all this year.
Ecuagringo brings you weekly fishing reports, offers and all the latest information from the Galapagos Islands. We have helped put anglers on marlin long before any other boats started fishing and have caught more billfish than anyone else in the Galapagos. Light tackle, fly fishing, pitch baits, heavy tackle, jigging, popping and anything you want to do we have it!
San Cristobal Island
November 4, 2023– Johnamar fished Rosa Blanca Bank and raised 15 striped marlin and 1 black marlin, had 9 bites and released 4 on lures by request of anglers from mainland Ecuador. The black marlin spit the hook after about 5 minutes of continuous jumps and was estimated around 500 pounds.. They also caught 2 nice mahi and 4 yellowfin tuna that would make a good dinner. Water temperature was reported at 78 F on the bank.
