Galapagos Islands
San Cristobal
The sunny days and warmer weather have arrived. Usually a great indication that marlin season has arrived. With a fresh new report from Captain Yuri Gutierrez from Santa Cruz island we kick off December in great style. Captain Gutierrez reported fishing Dec 1 and 2, 2012 with clients from Spain Bank 0-30 between Santa Cruz and Cristobal. Boobies, sardines and plenty of sharks were seen feeding on the surface as well as big eye tunas. On Dec 1 Captain Gutierrez raised 6 striped marlin, had 3 bites and released two. They also caught 5 big eyes 30 to 50 lbs and a bull dorado estimated around 25lbs. Water temperature was 69/71 F.
Dec 2, 2012– Captain Gutierrez headed for Bank 0-30 and had a great day with big eye tunas catching 8 fish from 30 to 50 and one fish around 100lb. He raised 4 stripeys and released 2. Water and sea conditions were 3 to 4 foot and very agreeable.
Ecuador
Salinas
The fishing in Salinas continues to be strong. Lots of striped marlin seeing tailing now for almost 3 weeks! Boats are raising 10 to 20 stripeys per day. Not many blues raised yet but as water warms up the blues should show up.
Folks we still have a few dates available for our destinations in Ecuador in 2013. Don’t hesitate to book or you may be left out of what is shaping up to be and incredible marlin bite.
