Ecuador
Manta:
August 16, 2017– Atomic reported 1/3 on blue marlin. Panga Jose went 1/2 on blue marlin and 2/2 on striped marlin. Panga Explore fishing for wahoo went 7/12 on wahoo and caught a black marlin estimated around 600#
August 17, 2017– Atomic went 0/1 on blue marlin and 0/1 on striped marlin. Panga Henry went 0/2 on striped marlin a1/1 on sailfish. Panga Don Teofilo went 1/1 on a nice 400# swordfish and 1/1 on blue marlin.
August 18, 2017– Panga Don Teofilo went 1/3 on blue marlin. Panga Mazinger went 3/5 on blue marlin and 0/1 on a very large black marlin they lost close to the boat. Panga Maximo went 0/0.
August 19, 2017– Fishing slowed down a bit with sportfisher San Thomas out and going 0/1 on blue marlin.
August 20, 2017– Abismal went 0/3 on blues. Panga Henry went 0/2 on blue marlin. Panga Marlon went 1/2 on striped marlin.
Esmeraldas:
A 23 ft boat that reside part of the year in Casa Blanca Club & Marina reported the following:
August 19, 2017– Fishing 30 miles out they raised 6 blue marlin and did not land any.
August 20, 2017– Fishing same area they went 1/3 on blue marlin.
Galapagos Islands
San Cristobal Island:
August 19, 2017– On The Hook fishing with Vinicio Gonzalez from Uruguay made the run to Bank 88 which is 68 miles Northeast of San Cristobal Island. They took a beating on the way out but was well worth it. Vinicio landed a big eye tuna estimated around 250# and the mate lost another off a double hook up of large tuna. They raised 9 striped marlin, got 6 bites and released 3 nice stripeys. Conditions on the bank were loaded with flying fish. They caught 6 more big eyes from 75 to 90# to make for terrific sushi. Water was 73/74 F and a lot better than around the island where water is 69 F on average.
August 20, 2017– On The Hook went wahoo fishing around El Pescador reef. They caught 5 wahoo over 50# and one wahoo about 75# plus 3 big eye tuna about 20#.
