Ecuador:
San Cristobal/Galapagos Islands
Most of the days on this report were dedicated to inshore fishing for wahoo, jacks and tuna. Pay attention to the last two days for incredible numbers of billfish.
Jan 24, 2018– Jhonamar 2 snorkel and fished with Michale Jane near the island having fun and catching a fe bonitos. On The Hook fished with Dean Lukin, Alicia Gibbons and Paul Thomas from Australia catching tunas, wahoo and jacks.
Jan 25, 2018– Jhonamar 2 fished with Michael Jane and caught a few tuna. On The Hook again fishing with the Aussies caught tuna and wahoo.
Jan 26, 2018– On The Hook fish with Australian group and caught jacks and wahoo.
Jan 27, 2018– Mantaraya fishing 0-30 Bank with Captain Julio Rodrigues reported 18 raises of striped marlin and two sail fish. They released 5 striped marlin and 1 sail fish. On The Hook fished Rosa Blanca Bank and reported lots of bait but no marlin action.
Jan 28, 2018– On The Hook fished 0-30 Bank and had triples, doubles and lots of fun raising 18 striped marlin, 1 blue marlin and 1 sailfish for a total of 6 striped marlin released by angler Paul Thomas.
Salinas
Boats out practicing this last weekend for the IGFA International tournament coming up in a few days found good action from Marlin.
Jan 28, 2018– Florimar went 3/5 on blue marlin and 3 mahi-mahi. Por Fin went 1/2 on blue marlin 2/2 on striped marlin and saw 2 more marlin that would not feed. Amanecer went 0/1 on blue marlin 0/1 on striped marlin and 0/3 on marlin they were not sure if blue or striped. Titagao went 1/1 on blue marlin and a mahi-mahi. Saray went 2/2 on blue marlin and 5 mahi-mahi. Juvenil went 0/4 on blue marlin and 5 mahi-mahi. Don Agustin went 2/5 on blue marlin and 5 mahi-mahi.
Manta
Jan 27, 2018– Miura with Captain Andres Calero, Peter Gelfand and Bobby Carrillo went 1/3 on blue marlin. Peter Gelfand caught his first Manta blue around 250#
Jan 28, 2018– Miura went 1/3 on blue marlin and 0/4 on striped marlin and 2 mahi-mahi. Bobby Carrillo caught his first Manta blue around 350#.
Folks conditions everywhere in Ecuador are beautiful to fish now! The marlin are bitting the time to book you trip is now! The Galapagos are on fire, Manta and Salinas are red hot.
