Galapagos Islands Marlin & Tuna Fishing Report
The best island in the Galapagos is producing double digit bites and raises of marlin consistently this December. Ecuagringo’s boat the Mantaraya has been fishing on Epañola Bank and finding the striped marlin.
Our guest Matt and Ryan Richter had fun fishing for striped marlin and also went out a day for wahoo and bottom fishing. Waters are 73/74 now and there are plenty of sardines and birds working them on the banks. We can customize your Galapagos Islands experience to fish and tour anything you want.
San Cristobal Island
Dec 15, 2019– Mantaraya captained by Jonathan Valiente fished Española Banks South of San Cristobal. A 32 mile run put guest Matt and Ryan Richter on some of the best striped marlin fishing they had seen.
There were plenty of sardines on the bank making it hard to compete with but they managed to raise 28 striped marlin had 16 bites and released 4 with 30# standup gear. One fish was reported to be around 250#.
Dec 16, 2019– Mantaraya took same Richter group to fish for wahoo and bottom fishing. They caught a very nice wahoo about 40# and bottom fish including grouper for a fun day of alternative fishing. They ended the day with some snorkeling with sea lions and marine life. The Galapagos are great as you can fish for a variety of species sometime the dame day!
Folks as our fishing intensifies now that we are officially at the start of the calm season in the Galapagos Islands we will have many more reports to come with over 300 days of fishing already booked between 3 boats during the prime season.
