Superb blue marlin bite is happening now in Manta, Ecuador. Captain Andres Calero has been at it again and the reports from this past weekend are phenomenal. Captain Gus Hernandez is back in the Galapagos after doing a few shows with the Ecuagringo Team in the USA and the tuna fishing reports coming out of the Galapagos are outstanding. Striped marlin are still around on 0-30 Bank and we will begin to fish more areas soon with many more reports to come as the high season begins. There are still a few last minute dates available for Manta and for Galapagos.
Ecuador
Manta:
Dec 1, 2018– Amalita went 3/5 on blue marlin and 2/3 on striped marlin. San Thomas 3/6 on blue marlin. Chola went 1/6 in blue marlin and 0/1 on striped marlin. Isabela had 2/4 on blue marlin and 1/2 on striped marlin.
Dec 2, 2018– Amalita went 2/5 on blue marlin. Captain Andres Calero onboard Miura released 2/6 blue marlin. Chola went 0/3 on blue marlin and 1/1 on striped marlin.
Galapagos Islands
San Cristobal Island:
The tuna fishing continues to be superb with local anglers reporting 20 to 50 bites average per day the last few days. Some wahoo have been mixed in and the yellowfin tuna have averaged 30 to 80 lbs. Local fishermen chasing tuna have noted surface feeding striped marlin on 0-30 bank. More reports to come from Galapagos.
