The tuna fishing has been nonstop action for those pursuing them with topwater plus all along 2018. It has been a very good year for tuna. Waters have warmed up even more this week which should bring some more blue and black marlin action. The coast of Salinas/Ecuador has seen lots of mahi- mahi and some striped and blue marlin in the past week. Manta has had its share of marlin action as well.

Galapagos Islands:

San Cristobal Island

March 2-5, 2018– Vertigo and Jhonamar 2 both reported nonstop light tackle action from tuna fishing the various sea mounts where the enormous amount of tuna in the Galapagos now. 20 to 100 bites a day per boat is what is going on plus godo wahoo, jack and grouper action in the mix.

Ecuador:

Salinas

March 2, 2018– Joshua reported loosing a very nice black marlin estimated around 650# and went 1/3 on striped marlin.

March 4, 2018– Several boats reported good action of 3 to 6 mahi mahi pero boat with nice fish 25 to 60# and most boats raise 1 to 2 striped or blue marlin.

Manta

March 4, 2018– The pangas fishing 25 to 35 miles out South West reported good action from 2 to 5 blue marlin a day average with some striped marlin mixed in. A couple of the pangas fishing inside the 18 miles to land raised black marlin.

Mach 5, 2018– Panga Don Teofilo went 2/3 on blue marlin including a nice fish estimated over 600#. Panga Victor went 1/2 on striped marlin and 1/3 on blue marlin and lost a black marlin inside the 20 miles on the way in.
