2016 – January 30 to February 2 – Marlin Fishing Report

As a follow up to our previous report we need to add the action in Salinas and San Cristobal, Galapagos Islands.

Salinas

Jan 30, 2016 Amalita reported a grand slam of two blue marlin, a striped marlin and a sailfish.

Isabela, a boat from Manta saw action from 4 blue marlin but lost all 4.

Jan 31, 2016 several Salinas boats fishing 50 miles Northwest of Salinas, not far from la Plata Island reported lots of flying fish, current pushing North and water blue/green but clear. La Chola went 1 for 3 on blue marlin.

Chasin Tail saw 5 striped marlin tailing and went 0 for 3 bites simultaneously. Then they saw 3 more tailing striped marlin and got a bite out of 1. They later lost a blue, lost another striped and caught a blue.

Amalita saw 5 tailing striped marlin had 2 bites. They also lost a blue.

Saray caught a blue marlin and dorado.

San Cristobal, Galapagos Islands

Nice weather and great sea conditions continue in San Cristobal, Galapagos Islands.

Feb 2, 2016, The Jhonamar 2 reported on the activity they had fishing the banks of Española. Captain Yuri said they saw several tailing striped marlin. They raised 9, had 7 bites and released 1.
