San Cristobal Island, Galapagos

Feb 10, 2016 Vertigo captained by Fernando Yepez made the 68 mile run from port hoping to do well on the 88 Bank outside park waters. It found 3 purse seiners fishing and disturbing the bank. No marlin found on the bank.

Feb 11, 2016 we had the pleasure of hosting guests from Texas Captain Bill Canaan, Alan Roberts, Doak Dunkin, fished onboard Mantaraya. They raised three striped marlin and a blue. They managed to release a blue marlin their first day fishing the banks off Española with calm waters.

The Jhonamar 2 fished with Adam Nietsche and brothers Yousif and Waleed Mahmoud on Española and had 1 bite from a striped marlin returning a ballyhoo sancocho.

Vertigo fished 0-30 bank and reported 3 striped marlin bites and seeing lots of feeding tuna.

Feb 12, 2016 both Mantaraya and Jhonamar headed for 0-30 Bank a 26 mile run from port. There was not much life and each boat reported 1 bite from marlin each.

Leo Dan fished Rosa Blanca and had action and several releases from striped marlin according to crew.

Feb 13, 2016 Mantaraya fishing Rosa Blanca and reported lots of tuna on the bank. The caught 2 big eyes of 70 lbs more or less and released a blue marlin in the afternoon.

Salinas

Fishing in Salinas has seen some blue and striped marlin action.

Feb 13, 2016 Don Chuma with owner Fernando Mata went 1 out of 2 on blue marlin and caught a striped marlin. 3 other boats caught 1 blue marlin apiece.

Chola had 1 striped marlin caught and lost a blue.

Pana caught 2 blue marlin. Ocean very calm.

Feb 14, 2016 two boats reported a blue marlin each caught and two boats lost blues.

Manta

Feb 13 and 14, 2016 the water was green, current pushed North and very little bait. No marlin activity reported by few boats out.
