Salinas: Historic Marlin Boulevard Of The Ages
Fishing
In the past Salinas was once known as the “Striped Marlin Mecca”. Today the fishery is much more challenging as it has been plagued by commercial fishing for over 50 years. Nevertheless the mixture of the Cold Humboldt current with the Equatorial and Panama currents attract all the main Pacific pelagics. Hit Salinas on a good day and it can be as good as anywhere in the World! Generally a current pushing South is almost a guarantee to se good striped and blue marlin action.
We have several custom packages to offer you as well as popular packages that you can check out in our Sample Packages and Pricing section. Our boats range from 28 ft Bertram to 38 ft Sportfishers. By far our most fished and popular boat is the 28 ft Bertram Don Chuma which was recently refitted.
Season:
The best fishing usually happens when water is warmest. Target October to April and you should find good fishing as water usually averages about 75 F. Striped marlin can be found all year as they are caught in water under 70 F as well.
